Mike Brandt

Mike Brandt is a Partner at Eastbridge Law Group, LLP. He has a bilingual (English and Spanish) practice, and has served clients from fifteen different countries and many US states. He represents parents, children, grandparents and every parent-like person in all family related actions in Wisconsin. He specializes in family actions related to children, guardianships, mental health issues, complex cases involving domestic abuse and domestic violence, injunctions and restraining orders (TROs), CHIPS/JIPS, juvenile actions, and special actions related to immigration issues. He often serves as a court-appointed attorney for the interests of children (Guardian ad litem). Mike also practices in other areas of civil litigation, including the investigation of financial records (often related to divorce), open records litigation, probate, and investigations into waste, fraud and abuse and various other financial crimes by public employees and school districts.

Mike is passionate about efficiently ushering individuals through one of the most difficult periods of their lives with compassion and candor. Mike jokes in all his consultations that he is well aware that no one actually wants to be talking to him, but that they’re doing so because they have to. He often remarks that he’s the only family law attorney he knows who says that “the only winners in a divorce are the lawyers”. Point being, when you need to hire one, you should pick one who is honest about their role in the system so you can get through it with caring and confidence, as well as efficiency.

He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has been in practice nearly 15 years. He has previously worked for the State Public Defender, the Department of Juvenile Corrections, and multiple law firms in which he learned how not to treat clients solely like dollar signs. He served as an elected official for the Waunakee Community School District from 2018 to 2021. Mike lives in Westport, Wisconsin with his wife, children, two dogs, one ancient chinchilla, two parakeets, and a constantly fluctuating number of pet shrimp.
