Amber D. Lucsay

Amber Lucsay is an accomplished criminal defense and drunk driving (OWI) defense attorney, in practice for over 20 years. She graduated from Lawrence University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and English, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2003. While attending law school, she participated in the Legal Defense Program as a student attorney in criminal defense. She opened her own solo practice shortly after graduation, and in 2017, co-founded Eastbridge Law Group (then known as Hanna, Brandt & Lucsay).

She has practiced in thirty-four Wisconsin counties over the span of her career, and has defended thousands of cases. She regularly practices in the areas of domestic abuse, sexual assault, child abuse, drug possession / delivery, drunk driving (OWI), battery, fraud, endangering safety, gun crimes, homicide (including Len Bias), criminal damage, theft / burglary, and probation revocation.

Amber’s philosophy is that the government’s power should always be kept in check, and that means thoroughly investigating police conduct and practices, along with a nuanced look at what actually happened. Even if someone makes a mistake, that doesn’t mean that they should serve the maximum penalties with maximum convictions. Attorney Lucsay is skilled at drawing compassion and leniency from prosecutors when negotiating plea settlements, and fights aggressively when it’s time for jury trial. Additionally, she has a working knowledge of what individual prosecutors’ personalities are, and what judges typically do in a given case scenario.
