The Wisconsin Department of Transportation asserts the existence of Wisconsin’s open container law.
This law states that it is illegal to “have an opened container on your person in a motor vehicle on a public highway.” If you wish to transport alcohol beverages that have an opened seal, then you must keep them in the trunk. You cannot keep them in your glove compartment. Violations of this law can result in an $100 fine.
