Per the Wisconsin driving point system, each traffic violation results in a certain number of demerit points being added to your driving record. How many points are added is contingent on how serious the offense is. If you get 12 or more points added to your driving record, your license will be suspended. Assuming you have a commercial driver’s license, the point system in Wisconsin is as follows:
- 12-16 points assessed- suspension of license for 2 months
- 17-22 points assessed- suspension of license for 4 months
- 23-30 points assessed- suspension of license for 6 months
- More than 30 points assessed- suspension of license for 1 year
