President Biden wasted no time after being officially inaugurated, signing 17 executive orders, memorandums and proclamations. Out of these 17 initiatives, six relate to immigration policy. Initiated policies included an effort to maintain the DACA program, which avoids the deportation of immigrants who came to the United States as children. Biden also proposed an immigration bill that would allow for those in the country before January 1 to be granted legal status and a pathway to citizenship.
